Miles is 10 months old

Wow...another month has gone by. His official ten month birthday was the day after Christmas, so we captured this shot just a few days late. It is getting much more difficult to capture him sitting in one spot on the chair :)

Christmas in Cincy

Thanks to Aunt Kathy for sending me some great pics from a fun Christmas day. I'm a little delayed, but at least it is before next Christmas :)

Christmas Eve Morning

We had our Christmas in three waves this year. The morning of the 21st at home, the morning of the 24th in Grosse Pointe, and the afternoon of the 25th in Cincy. Will really got into Santa and all of the festivities this year. He was also very upset that we didn't get to sing "Happy Birthday" to baby Jesus at church. We had to do that in the car on the way home! In Grosse Pointe, I captured Will's amazement of all the ashes (or mess as he called it) that Santa left after coming down the chimney. Lots of wonderful memories!

Papa's Office

We had a great surprise visit with Papa when we stopped at his office. Will and Miles loved seeing the boats, big buildings, Papa's desk, and Will's favorite, Papa's coffee mug.

Christmas at Home

We were very lucky to have three wonderful Christmases this year. First we wrote Santa a note and asked him to come to our house on the night of the 20th. Then we had Santa on Christmas Eve in Grosse Pointe and Christmas evening in Cincinnati. We have two very lucky little boys!!! Some of our favorite memories are:
1. Will saying "Look at all of these presents" over and over as he stood in front of our tree
2. Miles loving all of the wrapping paper, boxes, and bags much more than the presents
3. Will learning about the chimney and how Santa loves cookies and milk and Rudolph loving his carrots.
4. Learning that Santa leaves a mess of ashes when he comes down the chimney. This happened in Grosse Pointe :)
5. How much more enjoyable, exciting, and special Christmas is when you have two sweet little boys to celebrate with.

Creekside Holiday Lights

In our community, there is a fun little area called Creekside. For the second year, they decorated this area with tons of lights, they had little houses for kids to play in, some "fake ice" to skate on, and a beautiful Christmas tree all decorated. Sunday was super mild, so we decided to take the boys up there for a look around. Will had a blast acting like he worked in the post office (no surprise there) and at the bank.

St. Nick's Day

A tradition for Kim's family has always been St. Nicholas Day. It is the night of December 5th where we hang our stockings from the mantel and hope that St. Nick will fill them with small treats overnight. We of course carried on this tradition again this year and hung our beautiful stockings from great grandma from the mantel, and they were filled the next day!

Winter Snow

We have been very lucky to have had a few snowy days already. Will and Miles both loved going out in the snow, being pulled around in the sled, and making snow angels. Will also was allowed to try his first hot chocolate...which of course he loved! He can't stop talking about how much fun he had sled riding at grandmas and grandpas. Our big guy didn't even mind the big hills! We'll post pics once we get copies :)

Decorating the Christmas Tree

It was really fun decorating the tree this year, now that Will seemed to understand the concept of an ornament. We let him stay up a little later one night and help put some of the ornaments on the tree. He was very sad when we had to take the tree down after Christmas. He woke up from his nap and was very concerned, "where did the pretty lady from the tree go". He was talking about the angel on top. After a lot of explaining why she was back in the basement in a box, he seems to already be counting down the days until next December. Aren't we all!

Christmas Tree

We had a great time on our annual trip to pick out the Christmas tree. Will really got into it this year, and was trying to decide what tree he liked best. It seems like every year we end up with the perfect tree! :)

Miles' trick

Since he was six months old, Miles has enjoyed holding his own bottle and feeding himself. Just recently, he has started to chow down with only one hand. It is pretty humorous to see, so I had to snap a picture to remember.

Brotherly Love

It has been wonderful watching Miles and Will interact over the past few months. Now that Miles is mobile, Will has a great time teaching him fun things. Everywhere Will goes, Miles follows. It is also amazing to watch Will's imagination develop. Every piece of paper, block, and anything else he can find becomes part of his adventures. Will still hasn't quite figured out why Miles doesn't always want to play pretend with him.
