Happy 60th BDay Mimi

We had a great time celebrating Mimi's birthday on Saturday night.  The weather was beautiful, the food was great, and it was fun visiting with everyone.  Will was able to stay up and be apart of the party for the first few hours.  We had a great time!

Fun at the Tot Lot in GP

We had a great time this past weekend in Grosse Pointe.  We left on Thursday night, so we had the whole day on Friday to hang out.  We spent some time at the Tot Lot and also walked around at a sidewalk sale.  The weather was great!  Will had a lot of fun visiting with his mimi, papa, and aunts and uncle.  What a great weekend!

Driehaus Family Photo

The Driehaus family has a great tradition of going on a wonderful vacation every other year.  We have been doing this since I was a baby, and it is so neat that the tradition continues even with the ever growing family.  While we are there, we always find a day to capture a picture of the family.  This year we all dressed in our white and khaki to get a great picture.  It is amazing that everyone looks good and even the kids are looking at the camera.  The one on the bottom is the traditional cousins picture....everyone in age order enjoying the 200 camera flashes!  

Car Ride

Will was a fantastic traveler both directions to NC.  Pete and I have both later admitted to one another that we were a little worried, but of course he was great.  On the way home, he found a tissue box and pulled one out at a time and threw it around the car.  This was great entertainment for at least 30 minutes!

Beach Bums

Will and Leo had a great time together at the beach.  They were very lucky to have so many playmates too.  They were able to build sandcastles, hunt for crabs, and catch minnows all with the help of some wonderful family members.  I'm sure they are already counting down until their next Driehaus beach vacation in two years.

Beach Vacation

We had a great time in North Topsail Beach, NC for the Driehaus family vacation (mommy's family).  The weather was cooler than usual, which meant that it was very pleasant just sitting on the beach, playing in the sand, and riding the waves.  Will loved seeing his grandparents, aunts and uncles, Leo, great grandma, and all of his great aunts and uncles and second cousins.  There was always someone to play with!  Will is a very fast crawler now, so this beach trip was a lot different than two months ago.  Every opportunity he had, he would crawl as fast as he could straight into the water.  Mr. No Fear!  All week we'll add pictures of our great trip.

Pest Control

It is that time of year again where we must protect the plants from the annual July attack of Japanese beetles.  Pete is getting really good at spraying before they come so we don't lose all of our great flowers and plants by August.  Will thought Pete looked pretty cool in his mask, so we had to snap a picture.  When Pete started spraying, Will and I headed in where you can see Will stood at the door and watched his daddy's every move.
